Its been said that you are either “green and growing or ripe and rotting”.

This saying highlights a basic principle of physics known as the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.

The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics essentially states that everything is in a constant state of decay. In other words, the moment you are born you begin to die or as the adage says, “ripe and rotting”.

However, there is a big “if” attached to this law. Everything decays and dies if it is a closed system.

For growth to occur, the system must open itself to 2 things, energy and structure. This is exactly how coaching is designed to work. When a leader, team or company (the closed system) opens itself to coaching. The coach brings both energy and structure to the client to encourage growth.

The coach brings energy in the form of asking powerful questions, giving constructive feedback, (some of which will be hard truth) and providing accountability to the client around what matters most.

The structure can be a workshop (Relevant Crash Courses), Personality Assessments (Myers-Briggs, DISC, Strength Finders, etc) or Leader/Team Assessments (Intentional Leader Assessment, 5 Dysfunctions Team Assessment, 360 Assessments, etc. ) The fact is, you can get from here to there without coaching but coaching will consistently get you there faster while better maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
