A group of tourists were visiting a small village in Europe.  While walking past an old man sitting on a wooden fence, one of the tourists turned to him and asked,

“Were there any great men born in this village?”

The old man response?

“Nope.  Just babies!”

The story raises an important point.  Growth Takes Time.

It is a process.

Best when intentional.

Rarely accidental.

Growth is a major purpose for being alive.

It is a natural phenomenon.

When growth ceases, life loses it’s intent…it’s purpose.

The result?  We start to die.

As Coach John Wooden put it,

“The moment your past becomes more exciting than your future is the day you start to die.”

In other words, you are either green and growing, or ripe and rotting.

No one exceeds beyond their wildest expectations unless they begin with some, well…wild expectations.

So tell me…what are your expectations? Are they really your expectations or are you living out the expectations of others? Are they big and wild or small and boring?

You get to choose.

If you are reading this you are not dead. If you are not dead, you are not done.

So do something. Do anything. Because great men and women are not born. They did stuff.
